Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

ARRIVAL:  School day begins at 9:10 a.m.  All students must be in their classroom at this time.

Bus Riders: Students will be dropped off on the west side of the building. They may eat breakfast in the cafeteria or wait in the gym until 8:55 a.m. 

Car Riders: Please follow the one-way traffic pattern in front of the building and drop students off between 8:45–9:10 a.m. Do not park directly in front of the school. Students should enter through the Activities Entrance. They may eat breakfast when dropped off or wait in the gym. If arriving after 8:55 a.m., they may go directly to their classroom. 

Tardies: Students arriving after 9:10 a.m. must enter through the Main Entrance, ring the doorbell, and check in at the office for a tardy pass. (The Activities Entrance locks at 9:10 a.m.) 

DISMISSAL:  School day ends at 3:55 p.m. All students must be picked up by 4:05 p.m.

IMPORTANT:  Any dismissal changes must be called or emailed to the office by 3:30 p.m.

Bus Riders: Students are dismissed from their classrooms at 3:55 p.m. and walk to one of the six shuttle buses. Shuttle buses leave Prairie Hill promptly at 4:03 p.m. and take students to the bus loading zone at the high school.

Car Riders:  Students wait inside until their ride arrives. Parents should park in the front parking lot and walk to the Activities Entrance. Do not park directly in front of the school. Parents will form two lines at the Activities Entrance and staff will use walkie-talkies to call students to come outside.
